Thanks for your reply, Since I only have the Marauder 12 weeks I will probably keep it fotr this summer at least ( though if this problem isn't cracked soon I could be looking at a Savage sooner). But from waht I have seen of the Savage it looks like it could be for me when I upgrade.
Back to this damned problem, I saw advice on another board about the tank lid and actually the problem described there did sound very like my problem, so one time when the problem occured I stopped and opened the tank lid immediately with my spare key, the bike was idling and when I gave it gas it still died (but maybe I needed to wait longer ?) With the weather getting warmer here I have noticed if the bike is standing in the sun the tank lid is hissing, so I guessed this means its ventilating o.k., but still you could be right I won't discount it yet, I have only just today red on this board about petcock problems & running on Prime, so I am going to try that tommorow morning on the way to the shop.
Will keep you posted on any updates.
